Cooperative Information

Dear Member:

This is a busy time of year for your cooperative. Some information is provided below that should be of interest to you.

Director's Petitions due March 12, 2010
Members of Midstate Electric will elect three directors at the annual meeting on May 15, 2010 to oversee the cooperative's operation. Petitions for the three positions must be on file by March 12, 2010. Gordon DeArmond of District 3 (Crescent), Ron Sommerfeldt of District 4 (Gilchrist) and Bud Kendall of District 6 (La Pine) will all seek nomination and reelection to the board. Other candidates to represent those districts may also be nominated for Director by filing a petition signed by at least fifteen members of the cooperative residing in that district. Petitions are available at the cooperative’s office.

$20,000 in Scholarships to Be Offered
Midstate Electric is offering eight (8) $2,500 scholarships for persons attending accredited colleges/technical schools. Three (3) scholarships are available for seniors who will be graduating from La Pine, Gilchrist and North Lake County High Schools, one (1) scholarship is available to seniors attending other high schools, two (2)"at-large" scholarships are available for persons already graduated wishing to continue their education and two (2) scholarships are available for lineman school. Applications are due May 7, 2010.

Midstate Electric Prepares For 2010 Annual Meeting
Preparations are underway for the 2010Annual Meeting of the Members on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the La Pine Middle School. The annual meeting provides you with a chance to participate in the business of your electric cooperative. It also provides you with a first-hand look at the cooperative’s programs and services. Registration, health fair, and barbecue lunch all begin at 11:00 am, and the business meeting starts at 12:30 pm.
