Electric rates for Midstate Electric members are adopted and approved by the Board of Directors. The revenues collected from the rates are used to cover the cost of providing service, paying for equipment and maintenance, and for paying off loans – no more, no less.
The cost of electricity for Midstate Electric members is still well below the national average. As an electric cooperative, Midstate Electric’s primary responsibilities are to provide electricity at the lowest possible rates consistent with the need to remain financially sound and to provide reliable service.
Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives is a national network of electric cooperatives across 46 states that provides resources and leverages partnerships to help member cooperatives and their employees better engage and serve their members. By working together, Touchstone Energy cooperatives stand as a source of power and information to their 32 million member-owners every day.
