New Office Hours

Effective August 4, 2014 Midstate has new office hours, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Our office will be closed on Fridays and holidays. Crews will respond to outages and emergencies as they do now, regardless of office hours. This change will allow Midstate to provide better, more cost-effective service to our members.

Midstate Electric's NEW ELECTRONIC PAYMENT SERVICE

Midstate Electric has replaced the E-bill online payment system with a new electronic payment service called SmartHub. For members that have used the E-bill system, SmartHub will automatically recognize your existing user name and password.    

Alert! Be Aware - Email and Phone Scams

Dear Midstate Members:

The U.S. has seen an increase in email and phone scams targeting utility customers. The most recent scam, a nationwide email scam, targets electric utility customers by sending invoices directing them to a virus-infected site. The email scam claims to be from PG&E Energy in San Francisco, or Atmos Energy, in Dallas, TX. The fraudulent billing message tells customers that their bill is ready and provides a hyperlink that is infected with malware that can go after banking information or attempt to steal usernames and passwords. Members of a co-op in Ohio have reported receiving emails followed by phone calls. Locally, MEC members have reported after hour phone calls by a caller requesting money for cutting trees or asking about power quality. These calls are not being placed by MEC. Delete suspicious emails and hang up on suspicious phone calls. If possible use caller ID and report the incident to the Sheriff’s office immediately. Never give out any personal information such as bank account numbers, credit card numbers and user names and passwords. If you have questions, please contact our office, 541-536-2126.
