Midstate Electric is committed to providing affordable and flexible rate options that align with our members' unique energy needs. That’s why we’re introducing an Optional Residential Time of Use (TOU) Rate.

TOU gives members the opportunity to save money by shifting their energy consumption to “off-peak” hours when power costs are the lowest.

What is Time of Use?

A Time of Use rate charges different prices for electricity depending on the time of day. Electricity costs more during on-peak hours (when the demand for electricity is highest) and less during off-peak hours (when demand is lower).

What are on-peak and off-peak hours?

On-peak hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at a rate of $0.1200/kWh. All other hours are off-peak at a rate of $0.0600/kWh.
